PINTA London 2012, The Modern & Contemporary Latin America art show will present the best of modern and contemporary Latin American Art between 7th and 10th June at The Earls Court exhibition centre.

PINTA has been taking place for the last five years in New York City, where it has become renowned as the annual meeting place for Latin American art. For the third edition in London,  over fifty art galleries from the Americas and Europe will be showcasing an important range of works by established and emerging Latin American artists

This is an great opportunity for londoners and visitors to experience the most distinguished visual art from Latin America, Spain and Portugal.  Once again at PINTA, visitors, galleries, artists, collectors, curators and European and American institutions will strengthen their existing knowledge and will develop new connections with the Latin American art world.  PINTA 2012 also include a series of public talks with academics, museum directors, curators, critics and artist and this year a special showcase and homage of the Chilean artist Matilde Pérez Cerda.

Through the PINTA LONDON MUSEUMS ACQUISITION PROGRAMME, museums interested in Latin American art are invited to buy artworks from the fair by receiving special funds from PINTA, which they have to match or overmatch in order to purchase the works. This key scheme allows museums to incorporate new Latin American artworks and artists into their collections. This year the PINTA London Museums Acquisition Programme will once again include Tate Modern (London), the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), the University of Essex Latin American Art Collection (Essex), and Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, Mima.

Among the highlights of PINTA London is the solo projects section curated by Pablo Leon de la Barra. This section presents 11 projects by selected galleries from the Americas and Europe that showcase some of the most interesting proposals from contemporary Latin American artists today, For example Casa Triangulo, from Sao Paulo, is presenting Ecuadorian artist Manuela Ribadeneira; TJ. Boulting from London is presenting Mexican artists Laureana Toledo and Henrique Faria Fine Art from New York is presenting Venezuelan artist Pedro Terán.
